bbodance, formerly the British Ballet Organization, is a dance awarding organisation offering multi-genre syllabi, examinations, teacher training and inspiring events. They have an international presence with branches in Australia, New Zealand and teachers in various countries all over the world. They also just celebrated our 95th anniversary, so it’s an exciting time to be involved with bbodance.
We are proud that our membership has always been open to teachers from varied backgrounds and we continue to invite new teachers to join us, regardless of where they have trained previously. If you are a qualified teacher with another organisation, don’t worry! We accept and encourage applications from teachers with varied qualifications, including those from the RAD, ISTD and IDTA.
bbodance offers recognised qualifications and syllabi across 6 dance genres: Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre and AcroDancer. We believe training across multiple dance styles is hugely beneficial to aspiring dancers, providing them with transferrable skills and adaptability to whatever their training exposes them to in the future.
Access to written syllabus, syllabus films and additional teaching aids are INCLUDED in a bbodance teaching membership, meaning that just one membership payment covers everything you need to teach the syllabi for that year.
Our teachers receive special discounts on CPD and events, held both in person and online. The variety of training provided is designed to support our teachers as they deliver our syllabus, as well as helping them to build their businesses and stay up to date with the latest industry practices.
bbodance also host 2 beautiful dance studios in their riverside home in Wandsworth – perfect for classes, events and all things creative!
We regularly speak to new teachers about how we can support them; if you would like to learn more about bbodance and becoming a member, we are only a phone call or email away!
